Got leads? Of course you do! But you want more. And you want them to be highly targeted! And the best way to pursue qualified lead generation? With content. Lots and lots of content!
How to Write Compelling Copy
Use these tips to create the best copy for your campaigns.
Do your research
Yes, you’re an expert in your field, but you don’t know everything. Research your content topic before writing and cite authorities in your post’s outbound links.
Stick to the point.
Don’t meander. Don’t overstate. Or, as a journalism friend once said: don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story. That is, don’t lie – of course! – but make sure you KISS your copy all the time, every time.
Make ‘em smile. Make ‘em laugh. Never bore them!
The main point of content marketing is to provide your target audience with the information they seek. What information? When it comes to posts, the most important blogging tips to remember are:
- Make sure the post answers prospects’ questions and concerns.
- Aim to provide information on possible solutions to their problems.
- Offer tips on how to overcome obstacles and reach their particular goals.
Provide this information on your blog and in free reports. Make sure it’s thorough and accurate. But not boring. Never boring. Keep it simple, savvy, and stimulating.
Words are great, yet engaging content can also include photos, illustrations, gifs, even video.
Don’t be shy about using attention-grabbing headlines, subheads and bulleted points.
Not sure what we mean? This blog post itself is full of examples.
When it comes to your content marketing strategy, know your purpose.
Why are you writing a particular post? Is to showcase your knowledge? For qualified lead generation? As a branding vehicle? Know what you want readers to do – or not do – as a result of reading your post.
