HubSpot vs. InfusionSoft: Which Should I Choose?

If you’ve heard of HubSpot, you’ve no doubt heard of InfusionSoft. Both companies provide digital marketing platforms that help companies automate their inbound marketing tasks and tactics. But you ask yourself “which should I choose?”

But we, as a digital marketing agency are always thinking with our clients needs in mind. And we have most definitely have used InfusionSoft in the past. So it’s only fair that we outline the pros and cons of each so you can make the choice that best fits your company’s needs.


Let’s compare the two

Even though we love HubSpot, that’s not to say InfusionSoft doesn’t have its good qualities. Honestly, it wouldn’t be as successful as a digital marketing platform if it didn’t. It’s just not as good as HubSpot.


That said, here are some of the differences between HubSpot and InfusionSoft and why you may want to choose one over the other, depending on your circumstances.


  • Price

HubSpot is more expensive than InfusionSoft. A lot more expensive! It also requires a 12-month contract, while InfusionSoft doesn’t.

HubSpot also has what this review website calls a “steep price creep as you build your list.” It may seem like InfusionSoft is the obvious winner here. But consider what your company’s needs are, and if the low cost outweighs the internal resources needed to use it.


  • Functionality

Both tools help generate quality leads and both companies bill their tool as “all-in-one sales and marketing software”. However, each one’s functionality capabilities are different. HubSpot offers an all-in-one CMS, keyword analytics and SEO reminders. While InfusionSoft comes with a small CRM with ecommerce capabilities that are better than HubSpot’s.

HubSpot also provides a blogging tool, while InfusionSoft does not. (Remember that inbound marketing done well requires that you create a lot of content, and blogging is one of the best ways to deliver it.)


  • Their Targeted Audiences Differ

If you’re looking to service shoppers of your eCommerce site, InfusionSoft may be the better platform for you because it offers order forms and a shopping cart. (It should be noted, however, that HubSpot has a consulting team dedicated solely to helping eCommerce customers become successful.)

In addition, HubSpot’s digital marketing platform tends to work best for small or mid-sized businesses that want to up its marketing game considerably. InfusionSoft is focused on helping the very-small business owner (fewer than 100 employees).


  • Training

Both platforms will require that you spend money and time getting schooled in how to use their software. Neither is “plug and play;” they are highly sophisticated tools that—when used correctly—generate high quality leads.

Hubspot requires that basic users pay $300 for basic training while professional users must pay $2,000 for training with one of its professional inbound marketing consultants. You can avoid much of this by partnering with HubSpot Certified Agency like us.

InfusionSoft also requires all users to participate in its 30-day Kickstart training program. The cost for the program differs depending on which of the platform’s three packages you purchased. The company also will help you by setting up your first campaign. Like HubSpot, it offers ongoing training programs.


So, which should you choose?

We vote for HubSpot! But it’s your call. We recommend that you consider which one best matches your own goals, objectives, needs, and budget as you look deeper into each. Then choose accordingly.

That said, HubSpot rules! Really, really, really, TRULY rules! Its return on your investment is phenomenal.
