Do you Need a Paid Ad Strategist? (Yes)

If you have to ask, you already know the answer. Yes, you do need a paid ad strategist. Paid advertising may seem easy to run for your business, but in reality there is a lot going on behind the curtain.

So, why do you need a paid strategist? We’ll tell you.

Awesome Inbound Marketing Campaigns Offer

1. Targeting is pretty complicated.

Depending on your product or service, you have a specific audience that it appeals to. This is based on your personas, and it informs the lookalike audiences you choose for targeting your ads. Sure, you can you can choose all the attributes you think your ideal audience has and throw some money at it, but that won’t guarantee anything.

A paid ad strategist knows exactly how to segment audiences and target your ads accordingly. This may require splitting ads into separate groups or creating different ads for each persona and geographic outline. The amount of strategic thinking that goes into paid ad strategy cannot be replaced by a hunch.

2. You could end up wasting a lot of money.

Paid ad strategists have this ingrained in the very fiber of their being: it’s not how much you spend, but how you spend it.

Launching paid ads on social media or search engines is not a “get what you pay for” type of game. Spending more does not mean you will receive more leads. It’s all about stretching your dollars and investing them in the right places at the right time.

A paid strategist can help you get the most bang for your buck by lowering your cost per acquisition. After all, why would you pay more when you can achieve the same results for less? Without their guidance, you may end up wasting a lot of money on ads with undesirable results.

3. Paid advertising is not a “set it and forget it” type of deal.

“Okay,” you think, “then I’ll hire a paid strategist to initially set up my ads for me and then I won’t touch them again out of fear of messing them up.”

If only it were that easy. Paid ads require monthly, if not weekly, attention. According to Google Academy, you should set up your ads, wait two weeks, and then return to make adjustments based on the data collected. You’d be an advertising prodigy if you could select the targeting and ad spend/bid on the first try. The reality is that your targeting likely won’t be correct first try, and will require multiple adjustments to find the sweet spot: low spend and high ROI.
