A graduate of Michigan State University, Derek Mehraban has 14 years advertising, marketing and interactive experience. After graduating with a BA in Advertising, Mehraban worked for Ameritech Interactive Media. He went on to become an award-winning copywriter at DMB&B, Campbell-Ewald and Adbiz. While at the University of Florida, Mehraban collaborated with Bo Diddley in marketing to older adults.
Mehraban moved back to Michigan from Florida in 2003 to become Director of Business Development for Q LTD, a graphic design and web development firm with offices in Ann Arbor and San Francisco.
In April 2006 Mehraban left Q LTD to form Ingenex. Ingenex is a new marketing company serving select clients who want to understand and converse with their customers. Mehraban helped many clients while at Ingenex, but he wanted to grow the company and focus more on interactive marketing and web design.
On January 1, 2008 Mehraban merged his company with Ross Johson's company, 3.7 Designs to form a new Digital Marketing company. The new company will operate under the Ingenex brand name.
Ingenex Digital Marketing delivers full service Digital Marketing for clients including interactive branding™, SEO/SEM, web site design, social media marketing, corporate blog consulting, and more.
Throughout his career Mehraban’s clients have included: Pontiac, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Subway, GDI Infotech, b’drizzled Gourmet Popcorn, The United Way, NuStep, Asahi Kasei, The University of Michigan, The University of Florida, and Eastern Michigan University.
2.0 Involvement
Mehraban founded Connect Ann Arbor in 2007, a non-profit focused on organizing marketing, entrepreneurship and technology events. Connect Ann Arbor brought marketing gurus Seth Godin and Joseph Jaffe to Ann Arbor in 2007.
Mehraban is past president of the Ann Arbor Ad Club and active in Ann Arbor Spark, The Inforum, Marketing Roundtable, Motor City Connect and A2B3.
